The Ring Doorbell with HD Video Product Overview
Ring has been setting the pace for Video Doorbell Security for years now, and in my opinion, the best in doorbell security so far.
Ring 2 allows users the ability to answer their doors from any remote location, you are notified immediately via the Ring App when the doorbell motion sensors detect movement on and around your property, and allowing you the convenience of seeing who is at your door.
Then you can choose whether or not to answer the door.
See and Hear Everything with Audio, Video & Motion Detection
The Video Doorbell 2 camera captures video and has an adjustable 160-degree field of view. Using four infrared LEDs you get up to 30 feet of night vision.
Additionally, it has two speakers and a microphone for two-way audio communication with an internal chime. You’ll be connected to your home network via wifi and the motion sensors trigger recording from the camera.
Recording begins when the doorbell is pressed. However, it doesn’t offer the pre-buffered recording feature that you get with the Ring Pro.
You can connect the Video Doorbell 2 to your Android and iOS mobile apps just as other Ring devices.
Your device screen has a button for each of the installed Ring Products with an added Neighborhood button. This let’s you share any recorded events with your neighbors in the community with the Ring App.
You will be able to receive alerts whenever one of your neighbors post a video of any action in your neighborhood, to include: fire, police or suspicious behavior.
Charging is a Breeze
Beneath the face plate is a setup button and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack that is rated to last up to six months between charges.
To charge it, press the metal PUSH button to release it from its bay and connect it to a USB charging port using the included USB cable. While charging, red and green lights on the face of the battery are lit.
When fully charged, the red LED will go out and the green will remain lit. Charging is much easier than with the original Ring, which required that you remove the entire device.
You can also use your existing doorbell wiring to power the Ring and have it use your current chime.
5 Minute Set up Installation
Installing the Video Doorbell is easy. Charge the battery, tap the Set Up button, choose the Ring Video Doorbell from the menu, name the device, confirm your location, and follow the video instructions to remove the face plate and install the battery.
Next, select your home network, enter your password and wait a few seconds for your doorbell to connect. Lastly, attached it next to your front door and your done.
If you’re going to hard wire the Video Doorbell, just turn off power to the your existing doorbell and remove it before attaching the wires.
The app gives you video instructions if you’re not sure how to mount or wire the doorbell.
The Ring 2 Video Doorbell with HD has been setting the pace in wireless home security paving the way for new technology.
Communities are being brought closer together due to the user friendly Neighborhood App, Community, Neighborhood Watch, and Community Policing efforts.
Neighbors are able to view and hear what’s going on in their neighborhoods, notify authorities and assist in reducing crime in their neighborhoods with recorded video of actual events.
This wireless Video Doorbell is easy to use, easy to install and lasts at least 6 months between charges.
I hope you have enjoyed this review and as always, I would love to hear your comments, questions and experiences with this product as it will bring you one step closer to “Peace of Mind” in your own home and neighborhood.
